Safaricom on the spot over allegation of selling personal identification data to third party companies.
Safaricom subscribers have been in and out of Safaricom house over unwanted subscription. Users say, after a series of going to the Safaricom offices complaining over promotional messages, the company has just kept quiet.
" I called the Safaricom customer to unsubscribe the promotional messages but they keep on coming. I unsubscribed the messages on my phone, still, they keep on trickling in, " Trevor from Nairobi, a customer narrated.
Some of the companies that are frustrating people with their promotional messages include; 29090, dominion_ke, original win, 22658, 29960, 20822, kwikbet, 29008, jazabet, betlion, supermedia, bangbet, 299690, 60040, 31313, 40044, 40418, 22519, ipesa, 29597, infotext, hint, fanaka lotto, novap, smartlink, atome, 21026, 40720, 739714, wins_let, flooks, scorepesa, fizzley, acumulators, soka, spotika, 29090, among others.
" Safaricom should Stop giving our Numbers to third parties. It's not by mistake that you receive over 10sms from strange Services. It's a nuisance. The likes of 29008, ScorePesa, FLOOKS, 29680 etc. You unsubscribe, they still come back yet you never subscribed in the first place, " another customer said.
" I have complained, unsubscribed, visited their Offices to no avail, thus I gave up. Others do not bet. We even do not know how to bet. We do not want to get any inspirational messages as well, " Mwende from Machakos said.
Other Kenyans have been receiving more messages especial after loading money to the safaricoms' personal MPESA account. Some could get more than 100 messages lining up after the MPESA message.
